Dr. Erik how do I lose weight?

The easiest way to lose weight is to walk in the morning.

You need to wakeup at 6 or 6:30 AM and walk at a comfortable pace (can hold a conversatiion without running out of breath) for 30 to 45 minutes. Then wait up to 2 hours before eating breakfeast - as long as you eat before 9:00 AM.

In addition make sure you are well hydrated - drink between 1 and 2 glasses of water. You may also add glutamine to the water to protect your muscles.

Dr. Erik should I take vitamins

Good question! I recommend correcting your diet first. Then if you are still not feeling 100% take a multivitamin. I recommend the brands Pur and Thorne.

If you are still concerned about lacking any essential vitamins, I recommend scedueling a blood test with your MD. That way you can accurately supplement any deficiencies you may have.

Dr. Erik I heard Rolfing hurts. Is that true?

If you mean does the pressure being applied to your body by the practitioner hurting you -the answer is of course no.

I find it interesting that most people that say it hurts have never experienced the process.

The patients whom first come to see me have a great deal of trauma. Structural Integration (Rolfing) connects this buried trauma (pain) to the patients consciousness. When this happens the patients feels the pain in their bodies. It is not due to the practitioners pressure. As soon as the patient lets go there is no pain, even if the practitioner were to apply more pressure. This is what Dr. Rolf meant when she said "pain is what you hold onto."

I work closely with my patients to educate them on the process - as to teach them how to easily let go. I mearly point out where it is. This way it is a very pleasant and rewarding experience. Dr. Rolf use to refer to us a educators (teachers) rather than therapists.

In Structural integration I typically work on the body carefully stretching or moving your fascia.
